What is the coefficient of interaction between the geocell and the infill material?
This is a key design parameter. Our testing shows a very high interaction coefficient (>0.9) due to the textured surface and rigid cell walls, ensuring efficient load transfer.
Can the geocells be used in conjunction with geogrids or geotextiles?
Absolutely. A common and highly effective design uses a geotextile for separation/filtration, a geogrid for basal reinforcement on very soft ground, and the geocell for confinement and load distribution at the surface.
What is the thermal expansion coefficient of HDPE geocells?
The coefficient of linear thermal expansion for HDPE is approximately 0.2 mm/m/°C. This is considered in design, but in practice, the confined infill and burial depth mitigate any significant effects.
