The 75mm height provides an intermediate confinement depth, while the 330mm welding pitch forms relatively small cells. This combination allows crushed stone to be placed within a defined cellular layer rather than remaining entirely unconfined.

Material Confinement

The HDPE cell walls provide lateral restraint around the granular filling. When the geocell is properly installed and compacted, the confined aggregate can contribute to improved surface stability.

Performance depends on subgrade strength, drainage, loading conditions and the selected aggregate. The geocell should therefore be incorporated into an appropriate road design rather than treated as a substitute for foundation engineering.
